Growth Capital supported QLASH, a leading company in the esports sector, in a CHF 2.6 million seed round.

The proceeds will be used to further develop the QLASH Community app – which currently has over 20,000 monthly active users and more than 3,000 esports events already organized – and to expand into new markets.

Investors in the round include sports personalities such as UFC fighter Marvin Vettori, former Italian volleyball champion Francesca Piccinini, and Spanish footballer Victor Camarasa (Real Betis) – once again highlighting the growing interest of sports stars in the esports industry. Also joining the diverse group of investors were entertainment industry business angels and professional poker players, including Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Jeff Gross, and Daniel Cates.

“The esports market is growing and seeing extraordinary engagement, surpassing $1 billion in revenues in 2021. QLASH is one of the top esports organizations in Europe and the leading one in Italy. Its growing success reflects the attractiveness of its business and confirms the increasing attention from investors toward this unique sector of entertainment,” commented Andrea Casati, Vice President, Growth Capital.
